Allen,
I think you misunderstood Jim's reply. There will very likely be
noticeable image degradation by using two stacked 2x teleconverters;
both in image resolution and in loss of aperture. Of course it all
depends on what you are trying to achieve as to whether or not the loss
of image quality is unacceptable.
