New motor technology. Ultrasonic motors or as Olympus calls them
Supersonic Wave Drive. (Olympus really likes the word supersonic, don't
they?)
Now the $2500 question is: Should I wait for the E-X or get an E-510
ASAP? My E-1 is getting close to retirement.
