The thought is even louder for the Sigma 200-500/2.8.
The Tamron SP Di LD 200-500/5-6.3 weighs 1,237 g, 2 3/4 lb.
The Sigma 300-800/5.6 weighs 5,330 g, 11 3/4 lb. Quick calculation shows
that it would have a 143 mm FE, which would be f3.5 @ 500 mm, so the new
lens is going to be considerably North of 6 kg., I'd guess over 10.
Big shortcoming of the Tammy is the lack of IS. I suppose the Sigma
doesn't need it? Hmmm...
