I think that the photo is of a RR Griffon - the bigger V12 that replaced
the Merlin in later Spitfires (Mks XII, XIV, XIX and 20 series),
Seafires (Mk 17 onwards), and Shackeltons. If it's a Spit installation,
the substantial engine support is a give away.

I may be shot down in flames, but I believe this is a picture of a Rolls
Royce Merlin - http://archaeoimages.com/Duxford-01/pages/Duxford-25.html
- certainly a Mustang & a Spitfire elsewhere in the gallery. No sound
unfortunately... :-(
