I bought two less than cutting edge cards (nVidia 6600) that were cheap.
With the 570 chipset these only run at PCI-E x8 each. Not being a gamer
this didn't matter to me. What I got was the ability to connect two
monitors each via a DVI port. While you could run two monitors on one
card most in my price range only have one DVI connection. This may not
be an issue for you but like I said these two cards were about the same
price as one newer card. I have had one issue with this card and that is
I can't run the Nat'l Geo 3D mapping software. Nat'lG says the problem
is the OpenGL drivers and they have a "patch" that gives one the option
to abort opening the software which would in any case immediately
crash. Others have said that the problem is less than stellar software
from Nat'lG. Anyway, I'd get An ATI product next time which is said to
run this program without a hitch.
