Chuck:
You did a masterful job keeping the verticals vertical etc. Tripod, just
skill or both? I know how close you can get with a 21mm, so I'm not
surprised with the 17mm coverage.

It's good for architectural use both inside and out. All of the
interior shots here <http://www.chucknorcutt.com/house/> with the
exception of #5 were done with an OM mount Tokina 17/3.5 on a 5D. It
captures a lot of the room but does make the room look larger than it
is. The coverage angle is especially noticeable in #9, the stairway
shot. The camera is just outside the front entrance door and probably
no more than about 5 feet from the base of the stairs. #14, the deck
shot is also with the 17mm Tokina. Again, size is a bit exaggerated.
The deck is actually 12x24 feet.

I think I'll be using the 17 outside for landscapes as the weather gets
better. But I'll probably crop top and bottom for a panorama effect.
But I might also use a longer lens and multiple images for panoramas.

Bob Gries, who used to belong to this list, had a site where he posted
many architectural shots both interior and exterior using the OM 18mm.
I remember particularly some abstract sculpture in Chicago done very
well with the 18mm. Unfortunately, Bob's site seems to be gone but the
same scene shot with the 16mm fisheye is in the architectural TOPE
<http://www.tope.nl/tope_show_entry.php?event=11&pic=38> But the 18mm
rectilinear image is very much different.
