[OM] CCD's versus CMOS sensors

Yes Chuck and I am trying to mellow my previous attitude to digital now that I
realize how much I remind myself of how medium and large format film users use
to talk about 35mm format cameras ;)

One thing is for certain, though: digital capture devices are certainly
becoming easier to find than a really good roll of film is!

John, I think you will be better served by paying more attention to the
specific implementations of a sensor regardless of its base technology.
This is an extremely competitive business and probably moves much
faster than any edition of John Russ's books. Canon CMOS has been
ahead of the CCD pack for many years now. But others aren't standing still
and CCD or NMOS or something else could emerge overnight.

ps: You're a hard nose on digital. I think that digital as a capture
medium (for a given surface area) surpassed color film about three
years
ago.
