My 240 V version of the AC Adapter 3 says that both outputs are DC.
On top, it says DC 4.5V 1.2A, and has a diagram showing that the outer part
of the plug for the lights (or winder) is +, and the centre pin is -.
On the base it says:
INPUT AC 240V 50/60Hz 30VA
OUTPUT DC 230V 200mA/6V 3A
