I do not know how Nikon would do that any differently than OM. The only
way to move the film back is to push the rewind button and rewind with
the knob. There is no way I know of to do this very precisely.
The most accurate way I can think of at the moment is to mark the film
leader where it sits against some part of the camera when loading it.
Best spot would probably be where the drive sprocket goes through the
holes in the film.
Then when finished with the first series of exposures, rewind the film
until you feel it release from the take-up spool, open the back, line up
the mark on the film leader with the camera as before, then be sure to
take the same number of blank shots before making the second exposures.
Registration accuracy still won't be perfect, but should be very good.
That way of doing it would work just the same with OM or Nikon, or with
any brand of 35mm film SLR that I know of.
