What's the situation with the shutter and the wind lever with the MD removed?
Still film in it? Did you attempt a rewind? Did it? Normal actuation would
be mirror up, shutter fires and allows mirror back down. Indication is that
the shutter never fired. If not why not. If it did and the mirror is still up
that's a different problem.
