There's always an exception that breaks a rule - sorry to hear about  
your troubles. I've known of people caught in this trap before, not  
just with vehicles but with accomodation too. People trapped in poor,  
overpriced housing because they can't move, due to bad credit  
references or other social disadvantage, for instance. I also know a  
few people struggling by on art degrees - they work part-time in my  
local 'organic cafe' and watch as no-one buys their work off the  
walls. They seem to have interesting lives but often get angry at  
their financial difficulties and with good reason.
  Here you'd have the option to convert that monster to LPG and get a  
subsidy to do so.  While you'd have to accept that it would run a bit  
slower, you'd save a great deal. I think that's what this thread was  
about once.
