No debates!  Whadaya mean?  No filter required or desirable.  Just leave 
your hood in place.  It's much better protection than any filter which 
will grind ita broken bits into the front element anyhow.  It also has 
no optical elements to cause abberations or impinging edges to cause 
vignetting.

No debates!?  Gimme a break!
