I think discussing the color rendition of film makes sense, but I am  
puzzled when the same discussion takes place with digital cameras.  
There are literally dozens of ways to change the color rendition of a  
DSLR to get what you want on a regular basis. That is with the just  
the settings in the camera and does not even involve a curve if you  
are shooting raw. There is no reason to accept the default settings  
as the color rendition of the camera.  Fuji even lets you set the  
rendition to match the Fuji film of your choice.  Nor could I make  
some overall judgment of the color rendition of a camera after seeing  
images with a particular combination of settings. It is not fixed  
like film after all.
