I am in the same boat sort of. I sold all of my OM stuff that had any
value. I kept the OM1n and a couple of inexpensive lenses because
they were essentially without monetary value and I would keep a film
camera, just in case. I have not used it in four years. It may be
good for an extended trip away from power like a two week backpacking
trip since it is light and battery life is not an issue. If my
desires and physical condition were up to that though I would
probably buy any of several digital cameras that are available now
that are similarly light weight, carry a spare battery, and get the
images I would want.

There is a reason I have not used the OM. I do not do black and white
except as an occasional experiment. I like color photography and do
color slides. That said, a digital camera does that better for me.
Better color, smoother images, better resolution, better dynamic
range, more control over what I get. And I don't have to scan the
slides. Using the OM is mainly an exercise in nostalgia.

I shoot as a hobby too and find it confusing to switch between
cameras and miss shots because because of it. That is why I have
usually used a simple point and shoot as a back up. It is too
expensive to duplicate my main camera and I just have problems with
different similarly complex camera. Messing with an old camera that,
in my opinion, makes inferior images just delays my mastery of the
camera I want to use.
