[OM] CanoScan FS2710 and windows XP

I have just upgraded from Windows 98SE to Windows XP.

Now my Canon CanoScan FS2710 film scanner won't work. I have had the SCSI
card removed from the 98SE box to the XP box and the Canon software loaded
onto the latter machine. On the face of it the FS2710 and the XP operating
system are too far apart in years for them to be mutually compatible.

Are there any list members who have managed a work-around the issue of
non-compatibility to have their FS2710 scanner work with XP?

Having googled technical details of the FS4000 Canon film scanner it appears
that this senior cousin of mine was only built to work with nothing latter
Win 2000.
