Have you forgotten the source of this image? Kodak Brownie - the lens
isn't sharp in the corners. 620 film in a cheap camera - the film isn't
flat.
Were this from a Hassleblad, I would have the same concerns, and maybe
the scanner isn't perfect. But I had a Brownie Hawkeye 620 camera as a
kid, and this looks like a pretty decent scan of a print from one.
