Quite wrong. They are a large manufacturer in several fields.

And made most, if not all of them, themselves. My rear projection TV and
my late brother's car were both labeled as made by them.
Full name is/was Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which included steel,
shipyards, etc. There is another traditional business form in Japan, at
least since WWII, the "we make everything we can think of" manufacturing
company.
I think some have failed or un-diversified, but others live on, like
Mitsubishi and Matsushita.
