I said common meaning to include the commonly available haze and 
skylight filters generally sold as "lens protectors".  For example, B+W 
sells a "UV Haze 10" filter which I think is of the garden variety.  Not 
too expensive (for B+W).  But they also sell a more serious UV 
attenuator called the "UV-415 UV-Blocking Glass Filter" which costs a 
bit more money.  Formatt sells a similar thing with the more readily 
recognizable "Haze 2A" designation.
