I understand why you like the 7-14 because of architectural shots in 
tight quarters.  Since you already have the 7-14 perhaps you don't care 
now about the new 16-35 II.  But the angular coverage on full frame is 
only about 5% short of the 7-14.  The 16-35 II costs less, weighs less 
and can also be fitted with a filter which the 7-14 cannot.

One of these days I'll get a pano head and try pano technique in tight 
quarters.  Should be interesting.
