I've met some days ago at a pres presentation in Amsterdam Mr. Kawamura,
Technical Marketing Manager of the Imaging Business Unit Group of
Olympus Europa. As I said him I was a OM user from the OM1, he told me
in was in the team who developed the OM4 Ti...so I ask him about
the introduction in the E-line of this multi-spot measure we are
all waiting for...
He said me that it's in the pipeline for the future, so there is some
hope. He also said that the delay for new models will be shorter than
between the E-1 and the E-3 :)
I ask him about the possibility of a "full format" like the C* 5D or
the N* D3, but he said there is no chance for that, it's not the
philosophy of Olympus and the goal is not to compete with the "Big
Two" but to be number 3...
There was also two other Japanese from the developing team but
unfortunately, they speak only Japanese...
Too bad, I forgot to ask about the possibility of Image stabilization
for our genuine OM Zuiko lenses...:(
btw, what do you think of the viewfinder of the E-3 ? I've compared his
viewfinder with the 12~60 at 12mm and the OM4Ti with the 24mm 2.8. and
the difference is not so great...a really great improvement, and manual
focusing is easy with my Vivitar 90mm 2.5, even stopped down.
Unfortunately, my test period is not far from ending...:(((
