The Canon seems a good price. Battery life? - kids manage to keep
their mobile/cell phones charged so that's no big deal. It's more
important for no-hopers like us who might take over 100 shots in a
day. The rest of the world doesn't.
For the missus? What's a Fujifilm 31fd worth these days? Or if she
likes unbreakable jewellry, one of the Olympus 700 tough series are
nice. And pretty. Drop it, kick it, drown it, feed it to the dog and
it still works. And girls have small enough fingers to work it.
