A new part costs less than $7 but about $10 shipping. Since I couldn't
readily find ABS cement and I had the Walthers "Goo" in hand I used that
and am now giving it at least 24 hours to cure. If it falls apart again
I will just buy a new part. It appears that the old part has been
through at least three part number changes. Hopefully, it was
engineering changes to strengthen the part. But more than likely it was
MTD consolidating their part numbering system after many acquisitions.

I haven't bought anything here yet but if any of you are looking for new
parts to fit old lawn and garden equipment this place appears to have a
*lot* of stuff.
