As much as I hate to admit it, that's true. It's proably the best thought out
part of windows so far, and one easy enough for even my mother to remember.
Otherwise, I you prefer a tool you can batch or script, you can take a look at
ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php) ; there's
a windows link at the bottom of the page. Not exactly user friendly, but it's
the swiss army knife of batch image conversion. If I remember well, you can
even produce short films with images as frames.
