I was quite partial to the 100/2.8 on it. However, there is one thing
to remember about this critter: It does not change a 50mm into a
100mm in bokeh characteristics. What it does is actually magnify the
image of the extended lens.
It all has to do with where the focusing extension occurs. If the
extension is closest to the camera, the 2X effectively turns that
50mm lens into a 100mm lens. But if the extension is between the
lens and the 2X converter, you just end up magnifying the close-up
image of the 50mm lens. Essentially, just cropping the 50mm image.
There are moments where I regret getting rid of mine.
