Ali, thank you for forwarding this to me, it didn't even show up in my
spam folder so I would have never seen it without your help.

Jan,

As you may well imagine I've had various and sundry tests and procedures
performed over the years. Although I am sure that I've not had every
test available performed. Procedures/diets/cleanses/medications, some
western medicine and some holistic medicine.

Food trigger for migraine (not headache) for me is wine. No wine of any
type.
Non food triggers: odors-but usually in conjunction with a barometric
pressure change, not just the odor alone, (diesel truck exhaust, burning
trash, burning shrubs, smoke, super sweet smells and sweet flowering
perfumes, chemical cleaners.) Physical jarring of the head/neck/spine
area. Barometric pressure, elevation, altitude. Flying does not always
give me a migraine, but about 80% of the time it does. It can depend on
what the weather is like that we are flying through---up and out of---or
into. Driving to Denver or Salt Lake (going through mountain passes),
going up more in elevation, mountain climbing, all of the above.

I have read and heard about the ionic balance and negative ions thing. I
had some lady about 4 years ago come through the house and tell me where
I needed to put some thing-a-ma-jig to create negative ions. So then
after talking to a few other people who put credit in that theory, I
purchased two of the devices recommended, and the air in my house smells
nice, but I still have migraines.

Thing is, I don't have any trouble predicting my migraines....and am a
darn sight more accurate with the weather forecast than any of the
meteorologists around here. Funny/odd/interesting thing is I cannot
recall my mother complaining of a migraine before 5 years ago. After our
twins were born, she dropped everything and moved out here, 2 streets
away from us. She now gets migraines and she gets them about 8 hours
after I get mine. I can throw a rock and hit more people that I can
count on 2 hands that get these same types of migraines. Several years
ago I had read that Sinus surgery is the most performed procedure on the
western slope of Colorado. It is enough to make us want to move, it is
that disruptive to our lives, but this is where family/friends/work are.
And I have no guarantees that another location won't turn out to be as bad.

At sea level, though, I rarely had a headache. I don't want to live at
sea level.

I have told my husband many times that I either need a pressure sealed
chamber in the house for times when the weather is going to get bad (I
don't have the migraine when the weather is bad, I have it before the
weather gets here), or I need a shunt in my skull that will allow excess
pressure to be released...this may be a form of a lobotomy, I'm not
entirely sure, but there are plenty of times when that seems like a
really grand idea. :-)

Thanx for asking Jan...if you have any other ideas I am happy to hear them.
