Hi Nathan,
Thank you very much for your time and clarity of advice.
It's a pity I'm totally confused as to which lens to purchase!
I'm also interested in the 24mm 1.8 macro... it's difficult having an
allegiance to an obscure brand such as Olympus here in Adelaide,
Australia... you cannot just go into a shop and try them out on your camers.
Thanks again, at least I know the 30 1.4 is good.
Regards
John

Hi John,

I cannot honestly say that I see a huge quality difference between
the two lenses. Both are excellent, including at the widest
apertures. The Leica may be slightly better at f1.4 but the Sigma is
certainly no slouch. It is by far the best Sigma lens I have ever
owned, both in terms of performance and build quality (as opposed to
all the Sigma zooms I have ever tried, which all felt flimsy). I like
Leica glass and am willing to spend the extra, but I would not
hesitate to recommend the Sigma.

And thanks for the kind words about the pictures in your other post.

Cheers,
Nathan
