I almost gave up too. But then went back and started over with a
different approach. Although I rather like the result, there is some
fairly subtle tonal change in the wall color/lighting around and within
the cross from sharpening. Working with the full size would have
eliminated that. I was actually rather surprised at how well the
sharpening worked. It's FM's Intellisharpen II and some masking.
