I doubt if any of the big time converters will ever support the CHDK
produced RAW files. Dcraw supports all of them, adding new ones pretty
quickly as they become available.

Dcraw is available for OS X. It's command line only, which will turn
some folks off. Although not GUI, it is an excellent converter that
gives first class results. I have found a way to automate it under
Windoze where I select a group of files and ship them off for batch
processing with a click of the mouse. I have no idea how one does such a
thing under OS X, but I can't imagine it isn't possible.

I generally batch convert all the files from a shoot with default
parameters, then may go back to reprocess any individual ones that need
special treatment. Dcraw's highlight recovery ability is exceptional.
For someone like me, who does no adjustment beyond setting the histogram
and highlight recovery in ACR anyway, leaving any other adjustment for
PS, dcraw is great. For those used to doing lots of adjustment in the
RAW conversion process, it would take some adjustment. 16 bit output is
linear, not gamma adjusted, so requires a couple of extra steps ( which
may be automated with an Action) in PS.

Many independent converters depend more or less on dcraw for image
decoding and/or processing. As the G7 hack has been around for a while,
many of them probably recognize and support it. Again, I know nothing
about Mac software, but the list a couple of pages down in this document
does include some Mac apps. <http://www.cybercom.net/%7Edcoffin/dcraw/>

Most of the independent Raw developers are one person or very small
operations, so they don't update very often or don't deal with CHDK RAW
files at all.

In the Windoze world, Ifanview simply doesn't recognize the files, as
they don't have conventional headers. RawTherapee, a pretty decent GUI
Raw developer, works with the older A710 files, but is in a major update
and doesn't yet recognize A650 files.
