We may get mates for life, they get mates for a good time and a meal.

Lucky dating isn't as hard on the human race as it is on spiders, but then
again, there are way more of them then there are us. 

We'll not all of the eat their mates, I use to think it was just the black
widow, but there are a few species. The male would have been much smaller
and skinny, he may have escaped to play mating roulette again on another
day.

The one I photographed is still here, but I think she devoured her mate, for
he is no longer around.
