So you want something faster/better than the 40-150mm and not quite  
as 'ohmygodit'showmuchaaaarrrrrggggghhh'  as the 90-250mm? :-)
I'm assuming 300mm equivalent - 50-150mm f2 ain't gonna happen.
They can't afford to make a medium quality unit at that speed.
Look at the size of the 150mm f2.

If you don't mean equivalent FL - the 300/2.8 is enormous (the E-3 is  
a pimple on its bum).
The extra stop would get it up to 7kg - 15lb.
