Yes, I've had three: a IIvx (which I no longer have), a 6500/300 (alive
and well with 8.6, networked via PC-Mac Lan with this XP machine) and a
blue G3 iMac (at my mother's home, with latest Tiger).
Apple has been doing too many things lately, and it's been difficult for
me to follow up.
Some of the things Apple did and I don't like: iTunes, iPod, even iPhone
(I don't like any cell phone, btw).
And I don't like most of the people at the local MUG - because I don't
like fanatics.

Some two years ago I had to buy this PC so as to buy the Nikon 4000ED
together.
It was difficult at first, but I thought I'd better learn to use Windows
and here I am - not completely disappointed.
I may sell this PC and buy a new Mac (which are you using, Chris?) - but
certainly I will install XP + Leopard in it. And Ubuntu too, but first I
should install Ubuntu in this PC, left a partition for it.

Well, back to the missing .bin
Two days before I had made two large .flac files. I thought I had backed
them up but found the DVD folder empty; I had two folders with the same
.flac files in my HD, but they had disappeared too. Could have been I
did something wrong, and anyway I was able to make those files again.

While at this, updated the AVG8 - and a missing .bin happened.

It took me a while to relate one thing to another. There must be a
common cause. Which could it be ?.

Fernando.
