I know - the catch is that he has a hell of a waiting list.
But the gear is nice and he's a total perfectionist.
He does make a bit but he is really enjoying himself, especially the
long-running battle with that twit Littman. He's the classic old
school ingenious tinkerer. He loved the idea that people had used his
cams to record presidential candidates and the aftermath of Katrina.
His father is a retired machinist and does the cute bits and he's
been slowly perfecting this stuff for years. Always finding a new way
to do something - the finders had him stumped for ages until he found
a Giottos Chinese one he could mask down and get a decent view - not
as good as a Linnie finder but certainly good enough. He trawls the
net for good lenses in decent condition - Super Angulons and some
Calumet rebranded Rodenstocks are his favorites I think.
I keep telling him to charge more but the utterly unwarranted crash
in the AUD has given him a bonus lately.
