Hi, Moose,

We have been through some of those times when it seemed that no one could
get my wife's Rx right. She has double vision, which required lateral prism
correction to start with, now both lateral and vertical. Our standard test
with any new Rx is to walk outside and look down the street at the
McDonald's sign. If the arches don't coincide, its time to redo the lenses.
I finally set up a spread sheet with all of the variables, and, her success
rate, and worked out her last Rx and suggested it to the opthamalogist. It
worked better than his suggestions, and she is happy with this pair. Since
she uses a separate pair for computer work, she did not need the strong
close-up correction in the lower lens. I finally convinced the lab to use
her distance Rx in the upper lenses, and a medium correction in the lower
portion, with the lower portion enlarged to cover what would normally be the
area of the medium lens and the trifocal.
