My understanding is that the guy that really "invented" this two-light
technique used a medical IV drip stand. Had it's own rollers and those
curly hooks for securing the cables. He had the battery pack located at the
base so it wouldn't tip over even if he jerked on the sync cord.
I've seen this done with a "voice activated, remote control" flash-stand.
Basically a Q-flash mounted to a Manfrotto pole. No reflectors, just the
round flash
