Sorry, it does look a bit convoluted. The premise is, that you get many
many bonus points for shooting with the oldest, most limited camera/lens
configuration you can get. Shooting with no meter with guessed exposure?
100 points more than if you used auto-exposure.

How may extra points do I get for hand holding exposures longer than 1/15 ?

That would probably fall under artistic-effort. Graded by your peers. Less
impressive if your camera has image-stabilization. More impressive if it is
1/15 at 600mm with the OM-system taken from a moving lumber-wagon.

I know this all sounds really complex and all, but how else could we do a
contest that promotes using the ancient stuff (stone and chisel, 100 points
bonus) without excluding those who don't have the stuff?

Of course, we could just simplify this and say "it must be film--period".
If you don't have a film camera, bug your coworkers for one of those moldy
oldies in their closet. I hear that those old KMart SLRs took good
pictures. Frankly, there should be no excuse. Yes, Khen, even YOU in
Malaysia can find and process ONE roll of garbage film. You can always
develop film in coffee--that should be worth bonus points for alternative
development technologies.

If we can agree on that, well, then things do get simpler. Otherwise, I am
promoting scoring methods based on the Ham Radio "Field Day" global event.
Under these rules, Moose's new 5Dmk2 could be used, but if he was to win, it
would have to be a real killer of a photo to overcome the
age/technology/brand factors.

In reality, it doesn't matter how simple or complex the rules as long as
they are fair and everybody has a chance at winning no matter how meager or
impressive the kit.

Would these convoluted rules as described be doable if, say, the prize was
worth, say, $1000 USD? Not saying it will, but you never know.

Of course, All photos become the property of.... NOT!!!!
