Bob,

I have no experience with Samsung monitors, though I have heard them 
recommended.  I use a Dell UltraSharp 1907 FP 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor 
which I bought at a Dell sale price in 2006.  You might check Dell's current 
sales offerings.  I had to turn the brightness way down from the way it was 
shipped, but haven't touched the adjustments in over two years.
