Glossy fiber based papers can be dried on ferrotype plates or rotary drum
driers to get a mirror finish, giving what I feel are the very best B&W
prints possible. If resin based papers are dried on a drum or ferrotype
plate, the surface melts to the plate and the print is ruined.

I believe that Ilford first developed a drier for resin coated paper that
included an infrared element heater that softened the RC surface for a
higher gloss and blacker blacks. It works, but such driers are nearly
impossible to find used in usable condition, as spares are not available.
Someone else makes a new one, but it is quite expensive. Should you find a
used examole in good working condition, get it quick.
