Not at all trying to play one-upsmanship here, but my first hard drive  
had two 8" platters and a stepper motor, with an incredibly fast 150mS  
seek time (compared to the 400mS floppies I'd been using). Two 4MB  
drives cost me $1,800, as I recall. I believe that's close to a half- 
million a gigabyte.

Things have changed.
