Unlike murkins, we aren't in the habit of inventing grand and complex
verbs when we have perfectly simple Saxon ones to do the job. Nor
would we 'obfuscate' an email - it either is or it isn't.
My niggle this week - the local fire authority talking about people
being 'impacted' by fires, when they mean affected - bureaucratic
nitwits. The media, being the sorry ignorant sponges that they are
have picked up the term and used it twice in every sentence, assuming
that it's either correct English or appropriate jargon. I definitely
have 'issues' with that one.
This one reminds me of my favoritist ever bumper sticker - 'Eschew
Obfuscation'.
