Yes, imagine ever city north of the Mason Dixon Line wiped off the face of
the earth. In reality, the elasticity of global climate could cause that.

The old theories of "glacial" change, where it takes tens of thousands of
years for climate change to occur are now highly suspect as we are aware of
"triggers" that can have cataclismic affects. For instance, the redirection
of the Gulf Stream could occur in just one year, which would turn northern
Europe into an ice box, but the Sahara into a jungle. A reversal of one of
the oscillations in the Pacific could turn North America into another Ice
Age. These "triggers" could be instigated by global warming, which
immediately plunges the earth into drastic climate change resulting in
mile-high layers of ice bulldozing their way across our continents.

But then again, Mother Earth could just be having a hot flash and we're just
panicking for nothing.

Today in Iowa it's warmer than yesterday and tomorrow will be warmer than
today. Given that we're experiencing a 10 degree per day warmup over the
next three days, if I extrapolate this forward (like we do with the "global
warming crisis") it will be 220 degrees fahrenheit by the end of the month.
