What do you think of it when used as intended, with telephoto lenses to make
them longer?

I've got a Vivitar 2X converter for Hasselblad! Got it cheap on eBay a while
back, for $35. Had to try it for that price. My longest Hasselblad lens is
the 150mm. I sometimes wish I had the 250mm, but they go for abut $800 on
ebay or KEH most of the time :(

I have had this for a while and have not had an excuse to try it. Finally
did last week and was pleasantly surprised. I was photographing an old
factory and wanted close to the big sign on the roof. I needed to use f22 on
the lens (effective exposure of f45) to get the depth of field needed for
the 150mm with 2X (effective 300mm lens). The results were sharp even to the
extreme corners though the image lacked extreme fine detail. That's to be
expected at f45, which is diffraction limited. I read in Photo Techniques
magazine several yrs ago that at f45 the theoretical meximum resolution
possible was a mere 10 l/mm !! Still the image was not soft looking, it was
good. The Hasselblad 250mm lens might have been a bit sharper at that
aperture than the 150/2x combo, but I can't afford it and I have the 2x and
it worked very well!
