Yes, seems like a lot of work. I guess the top & bottom covers could have
been cannibalised from an electronically dead body.

fraudster's "investment". Aren't those 4T covers expensive? I wouldn't think
it would be worth the effort to cheat someone that way, especially
considering the time it took the person who did it to modify the circuit to
work.
