Interesting balance of observations, Dawid. Thanks for sharing and
for all the detail.

>From my own experience, many confirming points.

*  having the Z 90/2, I haven't felt compelled to get the DZ 50/2 as I
don't feel the MF of the 90 is a drawback in the situations in which
mainly use it, especially with LV for focus placement
* latitude of highlight capture of the E-3 is doubtless worse in
comparison to something or other, but not really to previous E-system
cameras I have owned, though it is a consideration at times requiring
a bit more PP shenanigans than I would like. In short, easy enough to
blow out highlights, but I notice people do this with other digital
cameras, not to mention film too.
* film vs. digital always amounts to something like testing apples
against oranges because of the issues of scanning the film. It is one
level removed from the reality of the film -- something I feel sort of
OK about with print film, but less so with transparency.

Not sure of the efficacy of resolution tests betwixt film, with four
times the square footage of an E-3 sensor, and digital in this
instance. More to the point, so many other factors loom larger for me
before absolute resolution affects my decision about what to shoot and
why. Virtually everything else, really. I can't easily get to the
point where I am disappointed in the resolution even of the E-1, so
this is very much an academic point to me.

I formerly used to shoot some combination of slide and print films,
mostly slide for the serious stuff. Digital has basically replaced
slide film for me. I still like print film for its incredible
latitude, but digital exceeds my needs for what I had looked for from
slide film, at least the needs that end up as digital prints and stock
images.

Anyway, I enjoyed your post.
