Remain calm. I suspect that most Mac users will, like sensible Windows
users, be well insulated against attack.
I run three Windows machines almost constantly, have done for years now,
and have never had a problem. Nada. Nix. Nowt.
Vista is very good in this respect, XP is OK, but I had '95 and '98 with
no trouble, beyond PC Guard telling me it had zapped something, or
asking me if I wanted it zapped.
Most Macs, being a niche product (duck!), will be fine.
