I suppose the PLA shut down the China Fleet Club .............origin of
quite a bit of my stuff that still survives to this day.

Would have left Wing Shing Camera looking vastly over priced !

Thanks for the clarification, John - how things have changed in little more
than a year (when the reverse was true). I had forgotten that HKD is tied
to USD.

Should you be back in HK when FX rates are more favourable, I can recommend
Wing Shing Camera 55-57 Sai Yeung Choi Street South beside Mong Kok MTR
station. No pressured selling, and plenty of grey E-System boxes to tempt
the faithful!

Piers.....Prices in Hong Kong were MORE expensive than in the UK!!!!!! UK £
is about 2/3 of what it was worth a year or so ago.
Quick phone call to my camera shop mate in UK confirmed that even after
haggling I could buy cheaper at home as I get a "discount" at my local
camera shop!
The most frustrating thing about the camera shops in Kowloon (mainland Hong
Kong) was the way in which staff tried to tell you that your camera choice
was bad and that camera X,Y, or Z was MUCH better and had far more features
etc...Very high pressure selling....at about this point I walked out of
shops.....
