Thanks for the kind words. I tried using a Takumar 1.4 lens for flower
shots, and, as you say, things get "mushy" if you use large apertures. The
Elmarit-R 2.8/28, used on the E-510, is a compromise. The short FL provides
good DOF, and I try to shoot shots like this around f/5.6 to get a
reasonably sharp subject and an OOF background.
