My Dell Vostro 1500 (bought refurb'd only about 1-1/2 years ago) 
supports those small cards but also does not have a CF slot... a point 
that was not mentioned in the specs when I bought it.  However, it's 
just as well.  Those built-in slots are likely only connected to a USB 
port.  For very little money you can buy a CF to Expresscard adapter 
(like this one) that will run faster than USB 2.0.

I have one of these.  Not precision made but it works fine.  Maybe the 
Delkin name brand one would be better built
