Looks like Tamrac aren't all that bright. :-) I just checked UPStrap,
and they are as dumb as Tamrac. Mine are a little brand that made them
briefly, then stopped.
OP/Tech does the mixed sex connector dance right, although I'm not wild
about the rest of their strap designs. The neoprene pads just make my
neck sweat, without really making anything seem lighter.
Options:
1. Switch brands.
2. Wise Tamrac up.
3. A few minutes work with pointy scissors and sewing machine.
a. Fits your cheapskate profile.
b. Nylon strap material, QRs for it and thread aren't exactly rocket
science.
