Not allowing Moose and Chuck to have all the fun, I opened up this image in
PWP 5.0 (a much purchase, folks), and a standard CA correction (using the CA
correction function in the program (Transformation, Color, Chromatic
Aberration), I was able to correct this to the point where it's nearly
invisible with approximately a -0.08% correction on red, and +0.08%
correction on blue. Definitely good enough for any "real-world"
applications.
In Raw Therapee, the algorithm isn't quite as good as in PWP, but with a
+0.0008 Red and -0.0008 Blue correction came pretty close. However, I note
that there appears to be a slight lack of linearity to it in the upper
right-hand quadrant of the image.

I think I see two types of CA in this image. The primary visible CA is
easily corrected with a standard-fare diagonal CA correction. However, the
second one appears to be a left-right which increases in the upper
right-hand corner and appears to be optical.

I'm still of the opinion that it just needs a software tweak in the
in-camera processor to correct this automatically.
