Hi all,

Thank you for your comments. I think it´s certainly very interesting
this topic and I´ll back to you as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I am
sending the raw file to Chuck.
I know what you mean by grey highlights. I am using highligh compression
(not too much), midtone data expansion and soft shadow (curve) with a
own icc profile (optimized for skin tones, everything created in Profile
Maker) and applying gamma 1.8 (instead of 2.2) for converting linear RAW
and keeping highlight data as much as possible. All data in this
software is calculated in 32 bits/channel floating point CIE LAB color
space. I tried all software packages but posterization was always
present. I fully agree that E-1 has too much detail in the shadows but
if you underexpose using 200 and 400 ISO, noise appears very quicky and
I am not the ones who like applying noise filtering to images. I like
film like pictures. I need a new E-1 with a better Kodak sensor ;))))
Chuck you have a very good eye. ;) Anyway, hope we could continue
talking about this topic as I find it really interesting. Now I must leave.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,

Dave
